A man has died after being struck by a train at Whitland Train Station, it’s been confirmed.
Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of the incident at approximately 8.05pm on Sunday, 11th September.
Officers attended the scene along with ambulance and the British Transport Police, where sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a Network Rail spokesperson, the incident involved a freight train on the 18.20 Margam to Robeston Wathen train service.
Normal service has resumed this morning on public transport. The incident caused disruption to trains between Carmarthen and Pembroke Dock / Clarbeston Road, which continued until the end of service.
